Hello,

I was hoping maybe someone could help me out here? I am really torn about our dog Diva - she is an AmStaff and about a year old. She is a very loving and good natured dog and we are very attached to her. We also have another dog Deboe and we believe he is a lab/great dane mix, and he is 3yrs old and he has been with us since a pup. They generally play nice together except there are times when fighting occurs at feeding or over a toy, or even when someone else is eating and Diva thinks crumbs might drop. We have now separated them at feeding time and that seems to be working fine. The AmStaff seems to be the aggressor and of course the other won't back down. We have a cat too and so far she has just played with him - eventhough he wants nothing to do with her.

We adopted Diva from my fiance's daughter a few months ago. Lately, the fights have become worse and injuries and blood have been an issue too. I guess I need to know if these two dogs can co-exist together or not. I hate the thought of having ot give up the AmStaff but sometimes it is like she is out for the kill. I am fearful that one of them might get hurt terribly or even worse. Diva is caged while we are gone and at night while we sleep because she is still being potty trained and leaving the two alone is not a smart thing.
